  • Domask fuels Pioneers in overtime victory at UW-Stevens Point

    STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (9-6, 1-3 WIAC) defeated UW-Stevens Point (7-8, 2-2 WIAC) 65-62 in overtime Wednesday night in Berg Gym. After a slow start, a big second quarter propelled the Pioneers into overtime, all while senior Maiah Domask recorded a fifth double-double of the season with a career high 26 points.

    EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (8-6, 0-3 WIAC) fell 73-58 at UW-Eau Claire (7-6, 2-1 WIAC) Saturday afternoon in Zorn Arena. After an exciting first half, the Pioneers led by a narrow margin of four, but a 17-3 streak early in the third quarter allowed the Blugolds to pull away in the second half for the win.

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (8-5, 0-2 WIAC) dropped its first home WIAC contest of the season 63-45 to the Titans of UW-Oshkosh (8-5, 1-1 WIAC). After a hard fought first half, the Pioneers led 30-27, but a low scoring third quarter proved too much to overcome Wednesday night on Bo Ryan Court.

    MENOMONIE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (8-4, 0-1 WIAC) suffered a 65-41 loss against UW-Stout (10-2, 1-0 WIAC) in the team’s first WIAC game of the season. With a low-scoring first half on both ends, the Pioneers were unable to overcome the Blue Devils as they pulled away from a 21-18 lead at the half.

    DUBUQUE, Iowa. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (8-3, 0-0 WIAC) fell 68-61 to No. 23 ranked Loras College (11-1, 2-1 ARC) in the championship game of the Loras Holiday Tournament. Junior Maiah Domask recorded her third double-double in four games with 21 points and 10 rebounds in Monday evening's game.

    DUBUQUE, Iowa. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (8-2, 0-0 WIAC) defeated Lawrence University (4-4, 1-1 MAC), 74-56 in game one of the Loras College Holiday Tournament. Loras College and North Park University make up the two remaining teams in the two-day tournament. 
  • Pioneers cruise past Lakeland, 78-40

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (7-2, 0-0 WIAC) cruised past Lakeland University (3-7, 3-2 NACC), 78-40, Friday night on Bo Ryan Court. During Youth Night in Williams Fieldhouse, the Pioneers defeated the Muskies in their final non-conference home game of the season and teamed with Go4TheGoal Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting those battling pediatric cancer. Both teams wore yellow shoe laces and the fans raised $578 for Go4TheGoal as junior Maiah Domask recorded her second straight double-double.

    DECORAH, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (6-2 overall) was edged 61-57 by Luther College (3-5 overall) Saturday afternoon in the Regents Center. The Pioneers, ranked No. 17 by D3hoops.com, were led by junior Maiah Domask who recorded her second double-double of the season with 17 points and 16 rebounds, but a slow start to the game proved just enough to give the Norse their third straight victory of the season.

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (6-1, 0-0 WIAC) defeated Ripon College (5-2, 2-0 MAC) 72-61 in a hard-fought battle on Bo Ryan Court Wednesday night. The Pioneers, ranked No. 17 by D3hoops.com, responded as the Red Hawks trailed just 56-55 with 7:27 remaining and went on to outscore Ripon 16-6

  • No. 15 Pioneers suffer first loss to Coe, 62-50

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (5-1) suffered its first loss of the 2019-20 season to Coe College (4-2) on Bo Ryan Court. After winning back-to-back games to two pre-season ranked teams, the Pioneers broke into the D3hoops.com national rankings for the first time in program history. In Saturday's matchup, the Pioneers and Kohawks swapped the lead seven times and saw a combined 38 turnovers.

  • Pioneers look to continue hot start

    The University of Wisconsin-Platteville basketball teams are off to a combined 9-0 start and for the first time in the history of d3hoops.com rankings, both teams are simultaneously nationally ranked.   The #15 ranked Pioneer women (5-0) will host Coe College on Nov. 30 at 3 p.m. on Bo Ryan Court.  The #18 ranked men's team  (4-0) will travel to Chicago, Illinois to take on Illinois Tech Nov. 26 at 7 p.m.

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball head coach, Kelly McNiff, will be one of Sunday night's guests on Hoopsville. Now in its 17th season, Hoopsville is the only show dedicated to NCAA Division III basketball. Sunday's show, hosted by Dave McHugh, will air from 6-8 p.m. CST on www.d3hoopsville.com.

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (4-0) extended its winning streak to four after a 63-53 victory over No. 18 University of Chicago (1-2) on Bo Ryan Court. The Pioneers’ 4-0 start to the season is a first for the program since 1994.
  • Pioneers enjoying the benefits of new Athletic Training Room

    Platteville, Wis.- In January of 2019 the University of Wisconsin-Platteville opened its doors to a state-of-the-art addition of Williams Fieldhouse. Inside the new addition are multi-purpose courts, a walking track, and a vary spacious weight and cardiovascular area. Right off the weight room though, is one the most important thing for the approximately 450 student-athletes, the new athletic training room.

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s basketball team (3-0) remains undefeated after a 78-29 victory over Fontbonne University (1-2) on Bo Ryan Court. Senior guard Morgan Horstman recorded the Pioneers’ first double-double of the season in Friday night’s win with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

    The University of Wisconsin-Platteville basketball teams will return to Bo Ryan Court at Williams Fieldhouse for a pair of doubleheaders beginning Friday night. The women will play host to Fontbonne Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. and Chicago Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. The men will welcome Viterbo to town on Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. and Washington U. (Mo.) on Nov 16 at 7 p.m.
