SEGUIN, Texas - The UW-Platteville baseball team lost both games of their double header against Texas Lutheran on Saturday. The Pioneers fell 15-5 in seven innings in the first game and 14-15 in the second game.
The Pioneers fall to 2-6 overall while the Bulldogs improve to 12-5.
In the first game, the Pioneers fell behind 9-3 by the end of the 3rd inning and couldn't fight their way back. The Pioneers had four players with multiple hits (Josh Moses, Mitchell Susa, Connor Crotty and Collin Mormann) but left 12 runners on base. The Bulldogs scored their 15 runs with just 12 hits.
In the second game, the Pioneers gave up 15 runs again but scored 14 of their own. Moses was a homerun shy of a cycle and drove in three runs. Mormann went 3-of-4, drove in three runs and scored three runs. Senior Curtis Barsness and freshman Garrett Gillund each finished with three hits.
The Pioneers travel to Longview, Texas to face LeTourneau on Monday, March 18 at 7 PM CST.
